Renewables, Grids and Gas Storage

This business area encompasses electricity generation from renewable energies, the gas storage of the Group, the electricity, natural gas and telecommunications networks, and the water and wastewater business.

Advancing renewable energies and integrating them into the energy infrastructure is right at the heart of a successful restructuring of the energy economy. EWE has recognized this early on, and has been investing in renewables since the 1980s. Gas storage also secures supply and helps stabilize delivery cost.

Building and operating energy networks has always been a core business of the Group. EWE has very extensive expertise in this area and is convinced that smart grids are the key to the future of energy supply. EWE's own telecommunications network facilitates the smart restructuring of the regional energy systems.
