Online for the future

The energy supply of the future will be based on a continuous exchange of data between decentralised producers, networks and users. For this reason, EWE set up its own telecommunications branch in 1996 with a high-performance network. The Group has since become one of Germany’s largest regional providers with the most experience. About 780,000 customers now receive telecommunication products from the Group company.

EWE offers households, companies and institutions the entire range of modern telecommunication services: from landline and mobile telephony through high-speed internet connections to online TV, computer centre services and advice on matters concerning communication infrastructure. A high-performance and modern network is required here, which is extended on a regular basis and complemented by numerous specialist employees.

Since the liberalisation of the telecommunications market, the Group has been able to successfully increase its market share in a highly competitive environment. This continued success is driven by good connections in the region and synergies in the increasingly interconnected areas of energy, telecommunications and information technology.
