EWE supplies electricity for German EADS sites
Supply to commence in 2010
Oldenburg, Germany, 27.8.2009. The Oldenburg-based company EWE AG has been awarded a major electricity supply contract. EWE and the aerospace company EADS have signed an electricity supply contract for all EADS offtake points in Germany. EWE secured the contract following a lengthy bidding process, bearing testimony to the company's efficiency and flexibility. The supply contract pertains to a total volume of approximately 550 GWh p.a. This is equivalent to the amount of electricity used by about 160,000 households in a year. The plants to be supplied also include all EADS subsidiaries, such as the Premium Aerotec GmbH sites in Nordenham and Varel. The supply contract with EADS expires in 2012. "This contract proves that we are on the right track with our innovative products, flexibility and customer focus," stressed Christian Haferkamp, Head of the Energy Sales Department at EWE.
