Schoeber appointed to EWE Board of Management
swb boss also to take on responsibilities in Oldenburg from 1 August
Oldenburg, 28 June 2010. With effect from 1 August 2010 the Board of Management of EWE AG in Oldenburg is to be expanded to five members. At its meeting held today the Supervisory Board appointed Dr. Willem Schoeber, Chief Executive Officer of Bremen-based swb AG to the Board of Management. Schoeber is to represent the EWE AG subsidiary swb AG on the Group board. He will nevertheless remain CEO of the utility company in Bremen.
"swb is a very important shareholding for the EWE Group," explains Günther Boekhoff, EWE's Chairman of the Supervisory Board of EWE. "Dr. Schoeber's appointment to the Board of Management illustrates the depth of our collaboration." Last year Dr. Thomas Neuber. Member of the EWE-Board was appointed to the Board of Management at swb, where he is responsible for renewable energies. Boekhoff expressed his satisfaction at the fact that Dr. Schoeber was an expert in conventional electricity generation and would be bringing vast experience to the Board of Management in Oldenburg.
Schoeber was born in Holland in 1948 and has held various posts and responsibilities in the energy industry since 1977. At Shell he worked in twelve different management roles in Germany, France, the Netherlands and the USA, including as director of the Shell refinery in Cologne from 1997 to 2004, simultaneously as HR director at Shell & Dea Oil in Hamburg from 2001 to 2002, and from 2005 to the end of 2006 in Houston, Texas, as Vice President Downstream Non- Conventional Resources at Shell Exploration and Production. Since February 2007 the manager with a PhD in Technical Sciences has been CEO of swb AG in Bremen. He is married and has six children.
