Neuber appointed Chief Officer of Procurement and Production
Oldenburg, Germany, August 20, 2007. Effective September 1, 2007, EWE AG of Oldenburg is expanding its Board of Management to four members. In its meeting today, the Supervisory Board approved the ap-pointment of Dr. Thomas Neuber, previously head of Corporate Devel-opment at EWE, as Chief Officer of the new Procurement and Production department.
The reason for the extension of the Board, according to Supervisory Board Chairman Günther Boekhoff, was the growing strategic importance of Procurement and Production. EWE’s clearly stated aim is to achieve stronger growth in these sectors. Dr. Neuber is assuming responsibility for the Gas Procurement and Storage, Energy and Environmental Tech-nology and Corporate Development departments at EWE which were previously presided over by CEO Dr. Werner Brinker.
“In the past years, I have found Dr. Neuber to be a highly competent and reliable employee. I am, therefore, delighted to welcome him as a Board of Management colleague,” said Dr Brinker, commenting on the ap-pointment. “His international experience in the energy industry, especially in procurement, is of of particular importance to EWE.”
Dr. Neuber joined EWE in 2004 and has been responsible for the Corpo-rate Development department since then. In this capacity, he was in charge of EWE AG’s affiliated companies, including international opera-tions. Before joining EWE, Dr. Neuber, 42 and a mining engineer, held various appointments at Preussag Energie GmbH in Lingen, latterly as a director of Preussag Energie International GmbH. He is married and has two children.
