EWE operates the Huntorf gas cavern, one of the largest in Europe

EWE has been operating natural gas storage facility in Huntorf since 1978. Today the facility comprises seven caverns with a total geometric volume of three million cubic metres. Cavern K6, in operation since autumn 2005, accounts for over a third of this volume. With a geometric volume of 1.1 million cubic metres, it is one of the largest gas caverns in Europe.
