EWE WASSER: ensuring high water quality with cutting edge technology
EWE WASSER GmbH is a wholly owned EWE subsidiary specialising in environmentally friendly waste water disposal. The company was formed in the middle of 2007 as a result of the merger between Cuxhaven municipal utilities and the former subsidiary EWE WASSER. Employees from EWE AG’s waste water segment were also integrated into the new services company. EWE WASSER GmbH is based in Cuxhaven.
EWE WASSER focuses its activity on purifying waste water produced by numerous municipalities in the Ems/Weser/Elbe area and Brandenburg. The company also operates secure waste water networks and modern waste water purification plants. The total volume of contaminated water purified by the 37 waste water purification plants corresponds to the consumption of well over 830,000 residents.
EWE WASSER is responsible for the management of the purification plants. This also includes maintaining and modernising the plants with cutting edge technology. This allows the company to ensure that only water flows back into the environment after the purification process, in accordance with demanding environmental requirements. The proof of this is the water quality; the water produced by the purification plants contains far fewer pollutants than required by law.
