Established in September 1996, the company is one of the largest regional telecommunications service providers in Germany today, providing its 640,000+ customers with internet, landline, mobile phone and TV services as well as comprehensive solutions for business customers and services for data centres.
EWE TEL GmbH’s services are available in the Ems/Weser/Elbe regions and East Westphalia-Lippe under the brand name “EWE”, in Bremen and Bremerhaven under the brand name “swb” and in the Osnabrück region under the brand name “osnatel”. The company also has 100% shareholdings in the telecommunications companies BCC (Brunswick), BREKOM (Bremen) and Telta (Eberswalde).
EWE’s key strengths in telecommunications are its regionally-based contact partners, who provide a local service, and its attractive bundle offers drawn from a wide range of telecommunications areas and energy products. In addition, the company is closely involved in expanding broadband within the region and invests in its own fibre optic network in order to make high-speed internet (VDSL) available in isolated rural areas too.
