EWE Polska: success in the natural gas market
With the founding of EWE Polska Sp. z o.o. EWE AG has optimally positioned itself for further positive development in Poland. EWE Polska is based in Poznan. It was formed in 1998 as a wholly owned EWE subsidiary and is primarily responsible for expanding the natural gas network in western Poland.
EWE Polska’s core business is the construction of modern high-pressure gas pipelines in the west of Poland. Once they are ready, the pipelines are to be leased to Media Odra Warta Sp. z o.o. (MOW), a company in which EWE Polska is the majority shareholder. The EWE subsidiary is also responsible for affiliated companies in Poland and providing administrative support for EWE affiliated companies.
In addition to MOW, EWE Polska owns further affiliated companies. The company is a strategic holding which is responsible for operative business in Poland and accelerating future growth. EWE Polska is looking to widen the range of services it provides in Poland through its participations. In addition to getting involved in supplying power from renewable energy sources, the company also intends to provide telecommunications services.
