EWE NETZ: cutting edge networks provide a step up on the competition
EWE Netz GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of EWE AG and is the part of the Group responsible for the network infrastructure for electricity, gas, drinking water and telecommunications in the regions of Ems/Weser/Elbe, East Brandenburg, North Western Pomerania and Rügen. The company is based in Oldenburg. EWE NETZ was founded as a result of EU regulations for the unbundling of energy supply. These requirements led EWE AG to spin off network activities to EWE NETZ GmbH in 2006.
The company’s main responsibilities include the management, maintenance and modernisation of networks. The network infrastructure plays a central role in EWE's multi-service strategy as high-performance natural gas, electricity and telecommunications networks and management of these networks are required for new integrated products and services. These system solutions give EWE important advantages over the competition. For this reason, EWE NETZ also focuses on developing infrastructures. The company’s electricity and gas networks are already among the most reliable and best performing in Europe.
