EWE: pioneering an environmentally friendly energy supply

As a predominantly municipal company, EWE considers itself particularly responsible for helping to shape a sustainable energy supply and has been committed for years to consistently expanding renewable energies.

EWE’s focus is on using wind energy, solar energy and biomass because wind and biomass are widely available in the north of Germany and also a large amount of area suitable for solar use.

The Group produces electricity in about 150 facilities of its own which use renewable energy sources and is expanding its production from renewable resources. EWE is also researching new solutions for integrating the constantly increasing number of wind, photovoltaics or biogas facilities into the energy supply in an intelligent and efficient way in the future. The provider has broken promising new ground with its decentralised energy management system - one of EWE’s many research projects in the area of energy technology.

NaturWatt GmbH trades in electricity produced exclusively with renewable energy sources since 1998 and has been providing it across Germany since the start of 2008 . Instead of being paid out, profits are used to expand and support the use of renewable energies.

Landschaft im Nordwesten Niedersachsens
