EWE Dogalgaz: Trading natural gas in Turkey

EWE Dogalgaz Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. (EWE Dogalgaz), set up in June 2009 and based in Istanbul, is a gas trading company with a long-term gas procurement agreement. This allows the wholly owned EWE subsidiary to trade natural gas to an annual volume of 750 million m³. Industrial customers are the target group of EWE Dogalgaz.

As market liberalisation continues in Turkey, the role of the state-owned natural gas company Botas as a monopoly is becoming less pronounced. EWE Dogalgaz intends to take advantage of this in order to position itself successfully as a trader of natural gas. 

Within the EWE Group EWE Dogalgaz is a valuable addition to the existing shareholdings Bursagaz and Kayserigaz. The EWE Group can now develop its activities beyond the distribution of natural gas in Turkey too.
